Psalm 98:1a “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things..."
We are in a new year, but still praising the Lord for the accomplishments that HE allowed in 2011. There are so many of you that support this ministry in a mighty way by volunteering and donating; we are grateful for each of YOU! What a blessing to be able to share a few of the accomplishments from last year: Nine month shelter program housed 28 total for the year (15 adults, 12 children, 1 senior citizen); of the 28, 3 families graduated the nine month program successfully! Tender Hearts Community Outreach Program assisted 1,386 individuals in 2011 and provided assistance 6,435 times according to Charity Tracker.
Ainslee Health Update:
Final surgery was December 1, 2011 and was SUCCESSFUL! I was released by the doctor on January 5, 2012. I am back to work… full speed ahead and loving every minute of it! Thank you all for lifting me up in prayer and also for the wonderful encouragement you have given to me! God has surely been good and I praise HIM for it!!!

The Tender Hearts Christmas Community Outreach on December 17th was a great success! Thank you to York Electric Co-Op for their donation of $5,000 toward the purchase of turkeys and Cornish hens for our Thanksgiving and Christmas Outreaches. The employees of York Electric Co-Op also gave a special donation to our ministry so we appreciate their helping us to help others. We also want to thank the many individuals, church bodies, and others who collected canned goods, rice, stuffing, and gravy packets and helped package the boxes that were given out at the outreach. With your help…we were able to give a box with a complete Christmas meal to 1,085 individuals. We also distributed 2,200 toys to 440 needy children within our community. We feel very blessed to live in York County where people truly have a tender heart to give and serve others!
Hope Can Update: Once again, thank you for contributing to this fund! Current total: $113,256.02! Of that amount, $48,000 is a grant for our upcoming Tender Hearts Resource Center! We are in the process of preparing to use this money for our new resource center. Thank you for your generosity in giving towards the growth of our ministry!
A BIG thank you to everyone who purchased toys for our Christmas outreach! You helped to give Christmas to many children.
Thank you to ALL those who give to the ministry! Many give of their time and talents; others give in buying needed items and monetary or vehicle donations. It is because of friends like you who care enough to make a difference in the lives of those in need that Tender Hearts is able to assist so many in our community! Thank you!

We are so very thankful for the many donations specific to our outreach programs. Occasionally, however, we miss getting that information into our newsletter. If you have recently donated items to our Community Outreach or Shelter programs and have not been thanked, please let us know by calling 803.684.3131 or emailing amy@tenderheartsinyork.org. We try very hard to let you know how much we appreciate your efforts to help others. Please help us to get it right by leaving your donor information with one of our store managers so we will know whom to thank. You are a blessing!
We are in the process of restocking our pantry for the new year. Please donate canned or bottled juice as well as the items that are mentioned in our wish list. Also, the York Thrift Store is in desperate need of volunteers in our distribution area.
